Danger at the Corner Store: Loaf ‘n Jug & Circle K Now Stocking Addictive Substances, Action Needed
Beth Morrison, Cascade County Block Grant
Substance abuse prevention specialists should be aware of recent concerning changes at Loaf ‘n Jug and Circle K locations in Great Falls, Montana. Loaf ‘n Jug, now under new ownership, has begun stocking addictive substances such as Kratom, THC products, and mushrooms—items that were not previously sold in their stores.
Despite previous agreements to refrain from offering these products to vulnerable populations, such as the Great Falls Pre-release Center, Circle K (formerly Holiday) is now selling Kratom in their store right across the street.
Several of these stores are located near local elementary schools, posing an even greater risk to youth. Unfortunately, corporate-level responses to these concerns have been lacking, making it critical for prevention specialists to address these issues at the local level.
Additionally, check your local mall, if you still have one. Similar products were found at Spencer’s, further expanding the availability of these substances to youth.
We encourage submitting complaints for each store selling these products using the Montana Synthetic Marijuana Complaint Form at this link:
